Sarah Horne, PsyD

Sarah Horne, PsyD is a postdoctoral psychologist practicing in Manhattan. She has experience providing psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to children, adolescents, and young adults facing challenges such as anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, and interpersonal difficulties. She also works with parents to support their children’s development and implement strategies that foster both growth and independence. Dr. Horne has particular expertise in helping teens and young adults explore their sexuality, navigate relationships, and maintain connection with valued communities, including LGBTQ+ and religious spaces.

Dr. Horne approaches each of her clients with warmth, curiosity, and an emphasis on building a strong relationship as the foundation for successful psychotherapy. She is flexible in her approach, utilizing different treatment modalities depending on the needs, preferences, and developmental stages of her clients. Drawing on her psychodynamic training, she helps clients understand the roots of their struggles, while also offering practical tools to reduce distress and build healthier relationships.

Dr. Horne earned her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. She graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard College with an A.B. in Psychology. Dr. Horne completed her predoctoral internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and received additional training throughout graduate school in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, schools, and community mental health settings, providing care to individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds. A lifelong New Yorker, she understands firsthand the pressures and possibilities that come along with growing up in a fast-paced, high-achieving environment.
